Roberto Bernal Gomez graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Coahuila in 1973 to continue its Revolving Internship in the Central Military Hospital in Mexico City between 1974 and 1975. Subsequently made his Residence of General Surgery at the Hospital Center "20 de Noviembre" between 1976 and 1979 to pursue a year in the School of Medicine of the University of Miami, Fl. at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Associated Hospitals where he completed the Clinical Fellow in General Surgery

Besides the practical experience gained between 1973 and 1980, Dr. Bernal took 5 Seminars in different areas of Surgery accumulating over 100 hours of theoretical and practical knowledge and its assistance to more than 105 courses in both Mexico and abroad.

Dr. Bernal has been invited to participate as an instructor or speaker at more than 150 courses and Congress both nationally and internationally and has held leadership positions in councils and the specialty societies as:
